OffiCB of tuk BOAVD of I'iiu.ic WOBKS, I Ann Arbor, Midi., August 28, 1898. f Regular meeting. Called to order by Pres. Keech. Roll called. Present, Messrs. Keech and Mclntyre. Absent, Mr. Scbuli. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Messrs. John R. Miner and Jas. R. Bach asked the Board to cause a street and sidewalk grade to be established ou Prospect street, (Miller addition,) also to order sidevvalks to be built and to do the necessary grading on said street. On motion, the Street Commissioner and City Engineer were directed to submit to this Board memorandum of grades and also an estímate of the cost for grading Prospect street. Dr. Hale and T. F. Hutzel, of the Ann Arbor Water Co., appeared before the Board and asked what the city intended to do with the water pipe on E. Huron street between 12th and 13th streets, which had come to the surface by the cutting down of said street. The matter was referred to the Street Commissioner, lie to cause said pipe to be put below frost. The profile submitted by the City Engineer of the center grade of Broadway was accepted and the Engineer was ordered to make memorandum of grade accordingly. Mr. Keech moved that we recommend and ask the Council to appropriate the sum of $200 for the grading of Broadway at the north end. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Messrs. Keech and Mclntyre. Mr. Keech moved that the Clerk advertise for sealed bids for the construction of stone culvert (furnishing labor and all material excepting stone and also for furnishing labor and all material) on Fifth street in the second vvard, across the creek between Jefferson and Liberty streets, according to plans and specifications now on file. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Messrs. Keech and Mclntyre. Mr. Keech moved that the services of Wm. Rosencrans, at a salary of 2.7-") per day, be obtained to assist the City Engineer in work on the main sewer. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Messrs. Keech and Mclntyre. Mr. Mclntyre moved that the City Attorney be requested to report to this Board the owner of the alley between Brown's drug store and Fred Besimer's, on Huron street. Yeas- Messrs. Keech and Mclntyre. On motion the Board adjourned.
