The ordiuary house rat will not fig'ht if he can find his way into a hole. Inclosed in the pit, with no chance of escape, the case is different. The rat will not only fig'ht his enemy, but will turn on those of its kind with which it is buuched. The trained rat, dog will jump backward and forward, oftentimes entirely over the rat in avoidingf its bite, and watehing its opportunity will catch the rat by the back, give one Tunch and break ta spinal column. Then it throws the rat, dead or Clying, aside and like a flash leaps into place for seizing and killing; the next rat. Make a column oi figuree- Aftrobats.
