A fishing decoy, invented by Wllliatn R. Lamb, of East Greenwlch, Ís intondcd to inducce the Ilsh to bite more re.idily than at a hook as ordinarlly ibated. A patent on this deVlce has been allowed. A circular or oval mlrror s attached to a line by a ring to tlie frame oï the glass. A short horizontal a raí is carried out from the frame at the polnt where the ring Ie attached, the arm extending a short distance in front of the KiiiTor; i't has at its outer end a ring to rcceivc a branch line, llic upp r eucl of wliicli is made fast to the maln l'.nc. Tlie short line Is secured lo the ring in the end of the arm vhere it passes through it to serve as a stay to the arm -vhen it is is strained by pulling in a ïish. The hook is tied to the end of the branch line so as to hang opposite the center oí the mirror. The mirror takes the place o.' a stoker, and with its lower cdge just touching the bottom, the least pull on the branch line will be feit by the liand at the upper end oí tlie taut main V.ne.
