The republican city cooventlon was held at the court house Saturday eveuiDg at 8 a'clock. W. J. l'ooth was made chairman and !S. A. Moran eeoretary. The oommittee on erédentials consteted oí Meesrs. C. E. Hisco;'k, E. II. Soo'l i and H. M. Tabear. The tellers were S. Dean, A. J. KitKom and E. F. Miïte. Tlie flrst thing in order was tlie nomiiiaiion of a mayor. -Mr. .] . E. Real presented the name oí ('. (. Dailiii'j,-, and Mr. X. B. Covert propossed the naniie oï Warren E. Walker. The liil'orniiil ballot resulted in 57 votes iMMiig oast for Du. Darling, 32 for Mr. Walker, and 1 for (. P. Alkiuinding'er. The tomial ballot resulted Darling 55, Walker 33, and Dr. Darling was declarad the nominee, unanimously. For president of tlie council the name oí Levi D. Wlneci was presented by CJiae. E. Hiscock. A ballot resulted : Levl D. WLnes 73, A. C. Sehumacher 7, md Mr. Wines wa declared the uiKuiLmoius nominee of the convention. The geuttaman appeared and nKide a neat little Kpeech, which was well received.
