Tlve probable result would be a dead faflure, unless the owners were abte and wlillng to draw eontinually on their wo funda to make up a djeficiency. A far safer way would be to drop electricity altogether, ruu the motor line to the court houe, and extend tracks for horse cars, in both cities, to more generally accommodate the public. Both cities could be well pnovided wlth tracks and car8, at one-eighth the coot oí an electric line that would hardly accaramodate half of edther city. A good system of horse oars in eoch city, wlth the motor making hourly connection between tlife city and the court house, would bc fiPlf-sustaiiiin.it, if not jn-ofitalle froimth fiïst seaid: oíf, and H. is not likely that a.ny oiher systcnn will be, until, at lenst, the eicctric {ad runs iteelf into the gro'und, and capitalists can lie inilnccd t tv examine the claims
