Cooley has received liis appointinent as postinaster at Iron Creek. It luis not been decided definitely as to the route, but it s thought that the mail will be brought to Reynold's Corners and the Evans Lake carriers bring it here. - Clinton Local. ïhe editora of the Fenton Independent and Northville Record are vieing with each other in publishing original prescriptions to relieve l hei r readers from pain and sufferiug. Here is the Independen t 's latest: "The Northville Record says that a nutmeg, suspended on a piece of commou string near the breast ïud next to the skin, will afford instant relief from neuralgia. Try it, and if not successful, this one will doit: Suspend yourself by the neck with a good stroug rope, and remain suspended for twenty minutes. Yon will never be troubled with further neuralgic attacks." Died, Wednesday afternoon, Fel. 27, at her home in York township, three miles north of this village, Nancy, wife of Robert Rainey, aged 86 yearg, 11 months and i'4 days. She was boni in Antrim county, Ireland, and carne to America in 1852, settling in New York state. She was there married to Robert Rainey, who survives her. ïliey carne to Michigan about the year 1S58, locating at Macon, Lenawee county, and iu 1SG4 they carne to York township, where they have lived since.
