Josepli T. Jacobs, the nominee for mayor, is so well Itaown to every man woman a_nd child In tko city of Ann Arbor, tliat it seems almost useless to teil our readers about hiin. He is an excellent and wortliy gentleman, possesses good principies, has lived a pure and upright Ufe, has no bleanishes upon his good name in any way, Ims fought in the ranks both ior his party and his country, and will make a good chief executive for this city. Mr. Jacobs is a man who takes p-iidfi in doing things well. If electeil mayor, and -he euirely will le, he wil: have sueh ;ui administration as tho citizens will lx; prouil of, o ye mistake the man, very much. ZS'o person need feax for the honor and good name oï Aan Arbor with Mr. Jacobs in charge of affairs. Evei-ything- wül be eonducted in a prompt and commendable manner. For tilie office of piresident ? the co'Uncil 'tlie republicans harO put up one of tlie most popular young men in the city of Uin Arbor. Active, clean, in moráis, wide awafee, full of eoiei-gy, full of business ability, he never has yet been found wanting and this wffl be no exceptiou to that rule. He wlll make a most excellent official. For the responsible and laborious oifico of city clerk, the republicans havo put forward a man who has been tried and found to fill the bilí, Glen V. Mills. The few weeks he has acted in that capacity he has demonstrated his ability to conduct the business of this most important office in a prompt, neat and methodical manner. And that is what Is needed. Mr. Mills is something of a liustler, also. Two years ugo he ran against Win. J. Miller, the strongest man in the democratie party, for this same office, and carne within, a ew votes of being elected- this time ïis filcnds feel that he can win no matter ivho his opponent may be. He is a deserving, pushing and competent candidato, and we bespeak for ïim the hearty and energetic support of every good repabücan and good itizeu in Aun Arbor. Por justice of the poaco a-nother youm? man is placed on the ticket, Nathan I). Corbin. He Ís a lawyer, a. man of good Judgment, candid,' honest and upright. If elected he will make a good justice- he couldii't help H, he is built that way, he is a good man. Afid now comes the oíd adage : "Hne last is the best oí all the game." For assessor. John Tí. Afin,. -m iu- has been in the city of Ann Arbor a man who is more tlioroii-hly fittod by educatiou, by natural ability, and by aptnesa in the peculiar requlnemente necessary for this office, as .lolm R. Miner. He is a natural born matheinaticiaii, a -valking auiíliiraetic, a man to wliom all the puzzüng and perplexing columns of obstinate figures are as but tho 1 B C's oï the alphabet. JXe ia a man of g-ood Judgmènt, too, and is pecuüaily fitted ia every way for tihis most important o-Iflce. " Auotlier thing, John ii. mever gets Ieft. He is a winner a,nd lie will be the next assessor for tíie city of Aan Arbor. There is a ticket that is a good one. Good Ín every way. Tüiere is no liglxt you can look at it in tliat it is not, all ríght. Xow for victory !
