A freshman by the name of McVay of Delta U fraternity was caught, presumably by some sophoniores, and liis face was daubed with nitrate of silver. He was attended by one of the faculty physicians and althoiigh bis face isbadly swollen and he will undoubtetlly have to forego the pleasures of the freshman banquet, yet there will be 110 serious results ultimately and his face will waar off white in due course of time. President Angelí is investigating the affair aud there will follow several expulsions, if the offenders are apprehended. The matter is causing 110 little consternation in freshman ranks. UMVEIISITY COMEDY There are several excellent reasons why the approaching entertainment of the University Comedy Club should receive your immediate and hearty support. In the flrst place by dom:.' so you will help along two very worthy causes, athletics and the women's gymnasium. But there is anotker important reason. The club is this year a sort of experiment to see whether a really first class dramatic organization can be supported here. There is talent in the University which coiild give us anotheï "Hasty Pudding Club" or "Sfcrollers" - twoorganizations wliicli have done much to make tlie two great eastern colleges which they represent, famous all over the continent. If the Comedy Club receiye proper support we may hope íor a val oí interest along this line. The comedies to be presented in the opera house, May 10, are both bright and happy, and sure to please. Tickets are already on sale.
