Hatch, of theUuiversity, won secoud prize. Iiis subject was "Modern Menacee oí America." N. T. Harper, of Kalamazoo won first place. F. A. Kul]., ü. of M., was elected delégate to the national convention in Cleveland. The Courier is in receipt of the preliminar}' annoimcenient of the fourtli meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, to be held in Spriugfield, Mass., August 28 to Sept. 7. The announcement indi' cates a very meaty program. Dean A. B. Prescott, of the School of Pharmacy was ormer.'y president of the associ ation.
