The December number oí Wilson's Photographic Magazine, a periódica!, as lts name implies, devoted to tlie great and progressive art of pliotography, has an interesting article in regard to out fellow-to-wnsman, Herfoert Bandall. A splendld uortrait of (him is given, together with a numbei' of his art pictures, and a coup'e oE his poems, Mosaica and MHking Song. That our readers may have an opportunity to judge of his poetu; genius, we quote the poems : MOSAICS. Life is a grand mosaic work, Wrought ín celestial hue, A symbol clusters in your rose, Where glows the momina (lew. Each thought is asa peerless gem. If wisdorïi chisel it; A moment's monument of light, The one mosaic bit. . Set into shape a perfect arch, To burn like blqssoms pure That fleck the mid-day's inountain side, Forever to endure. Let wakeful reason guide your art. Love graces each sovereign touch, For beauty hath not beauty true, Be it not crowned with sucii. MILKING SOXG, The Sun a-wearie wi' the nours Had said guid-nicht and kist the flow'rs An' owre ilka wee birds bed THe peace o' Simmersleep he spread ; Theu hid awa his frowzy head. The e'enln' dews began to fa' When down the lañe I heard the ca' " Co' Boss ! Co' Boss ! Co' Boss ! It floated aft' and died awa'. In heav'n where sweet things deed noo are; Or raither where they'ie salrt to be; If it be true, their heav'n's wi' me These mony years, au' eanna dee, For my heart's achin' noo to prove It lives thegither wi' my love. The kye carne rtnnin thro' the gloam, An' sic a paie of snowy foam As to her coaxin' they gae down ! Whlle she unmindfu' o' her goon Displayed two pretty ankles bruon. An' noo her volee comes back to me, That milklng song that canna dee, "Solioss! SoBoss! SoBossl" The latter is preceded by a very pretty picture of the milk maid at the pasture bars, calling "Oo' Boss." There are a number of gems frorn Bis camera, one of which at least is recognized as being one of the fair young ladies of Arm Arbor. Mr. RandaU is about to publish an illustrated book of his poems, witl the titie "Blm City : Picture and Verse." This wiü include not only the beautiful thoughts he has penned into poeins, but a series of his camera work executed by Iv. Pang"& Co., the art publishers of Boston.
