Ccungressman Spalding of this district, has introduced the iollowing bill in congress : "That on and after the iirst day of July, 1896. all impost duties collecta:ble ty the govemment of the United Sbates, tíliall be payable in TJnited States gold and silver coin in. as nearly equal proportions as the value oí the various coios of the two metala may permit." The bill shomld be presented to the House aaid pufc on its passage. It is alxrat the only method in, sight Jor supplying the government with coin. James T. Hurst oí Wyandotte, wlio was elected a delégate to St. '.Louis from this district, at the recent convention in this city, was quite severely injured by a runaway accident last week at his home.
