The commilttee of arrain(gepien;tB, which coteists of some of the leadlngr business men oif the village, have mei with signal success thus Tar in their arrangements íoir a grand eelebratian of America's independence on Baturday July 4. Boos' celebrated band of 18 instruments and drum major, will furnteb excellent music throughont the day. At the grove- not Arbeiter, but one near tlhe center of the "village- the "oi'enoon exercise; will bs helJ. Mayot Pingree of Detroit, Hon. Oh as. E. Towinsend of Jackson, and W. "W. Wedemeyer of Ann Arbor are ajnong the speakers -who have agreed tö be present. Appropriate patriotic vocal moislc will be furnished by a choir of good singers. The afternoon sports wlll e.onslst of long distance. townsship and other bicy.'ie races by riders of both sexes; fooi, isaek, TClheIba.rrow, 3-legged, egg and otilier races will be helldi oo excbange place. Swlmming races, tu1 races, etc, will be glTen in the pond in tlie center of the vllage, for wfaich liberal prizes will be siven and in whicli all who wteli may particípate. A business parade will be given and perhaps the "Omegas" may yet be induced to return and giva nn exhibition. A military parade by BOme of Jacksoa'3 best companies will be au attractton. The day wlfl close witfh a display of fireworks better ttiau is uisu&Uy seen outside of large cities. The railroads have prO'mised special trams and half fare and our eitizens wlil give all visitors a hearty welcome.
