The board of directors of the local Y. M. C. A. at its meeting last night engaged John E. Benz, of Ottumwa, Iowa, general secretary to succeed B. B. Johnson, resigned. Mr. Johnson has. made a model secretary and eeases work a month or so earlier in order to allow the board to take the unusually good chance offered at this time. He expects to be in school next year, but wishes to give his whole time to his studies. Mr. Benz takes charge cf hls new duties tomorrow morning and ill henceforth devote his -whole time to them. Mr. Johnson was engaged for only half the time and tli3 new arrangement is expected to afïord chance for considerable improvement. Xbe new secretary has been assistant general secretary at Ottumwa for two years. The Times takes great i'easure in welcoming Mr. Benz to our mldst.- Daily Times, June 30.
