Heiva toorn at Racine, O., on the Ohio river, Jltr.-h 22, 1860. He graduated :n the claaeical course of t3ie Ohio Wesley.wi Universlty in 1883, and afterwardS pur.sued a course oí Btudy irt Drew Theolo.ïical Seminary. Having completed the special course in philofcophy. Oie was given the dgree of Ph. D. upon examinatïon, by the Ohio Weslf-yan üniveisity in 1895. He was married i'n Oolumbus, O., in '84 to Miss Laren a Cherimgton. They have three daughters. Dr. McElroy's sister. Mies Myrtle McElroy, is also a mem'ber of their hOTisehold. Capt. J. C. McBlroy, who is widely known in Grand Army circles, haviiii; served for several years as secretary and trea.surer of the Chickamaasa Commissioin oi Ohio, and having w ritten a history of the battle of Chickaniauga, is the father f the new Arm Arbor pafitor. Capt. McEU oy is at present ttoe postmaster of Coni;-reSB. Mrs. McElroy's fat'ber was a Methodist minister. Tlhree oí her brothere are also in the ininistry. Stoe is greatly devoted to the chttrch, and has always been her husband's riglit hand helper in every good work. Boch Dr. and Mr3. MuElroy are graduales oj' t)he sime institution, and speut live years t-ogetber in post gradúate study. Dr. McElroy is in the early prime of life. He has been a frequent contrib-utor to the prese, his articles being readily received by some. oï the leading papers oï the country. His pastoTatess in the Ohio Conierence have been Alexandria, Granville, the eeat oi Demniso'n Untverslty, öt. Paul's Delaware, the eat of Ohio Wesleyan Unlversity, BigelOw'iS Cliapel Portsm.outh, aad London. He had a very prosperóos pastorate in Delaware, where he had formerly been joJs a sitow dent in college. His devo-tion to his families, his friendship with professors, aowl etudents, and has interest in the people at large, made tlhus pastorate eminer-tly eatisfactoiry to the citizens and to t'he University. He then spent five years as pastor of tihe strongest ohurch in Poi'ttanoutli O., where during his niinistry the church was rebulle, and many ïmpiwemente were made. He was Ihedd in -very, high esteem in taiiis church, but thei üve year limit made necessary his remo'val One year aKO', at whili time he was1 appointed pastor at London, O. His Is pre-eminently a gospel ministry, made more efiective by his literary work, umder tiie blessng of the IIü!y Spirit.
