A funous musical performance ís thus described by the New York Staats Zeitung : ".Mr. Tlieodor Hock lias just returned rom Berlín where lie liad been engaged at the Exposítion. Besides lie gave other concerts in his native city, and verywhere he met with the warmest eception. The last day he went up ,000 feet in ft balloou playing a cornet oio, starting with the "Star Spangled immer," "Dixie Land," etc. While escending he played the Germán Naional Airs, but when he reached the round he again played "Home, Sweet lome." The applause which greeted lim was deafening, peoplè f rom far and ear ha ving gathered to hear him. His bject in going into the balloon was to )e able to judge the distance his instrument miglit be heard. Musicians who ïad come to hear him said every note ouldbs heard distiuctly, the effect being onderful at times." Mr. Hock will appear here to-morrow, 'hursday evening, at the Presbyterian ..urch, in the Y. M. C. A. eourae.nsing th same instrument whose notes rang out so clear in Germany. You should not miss hearing him.
