The demand now heard from merohants and manufacturers oud bankers and other intelligent observers in every part of the country is not for some repairs to our financial system, but for a new system. No governinent paper can be free frora objection, becanse its volume and redeemability will depend in part upon the opinions of congress and in part upon the opinions of the president. No one can be certain that these will be correct in all years to conie.
