On Saturday lust all the students of Ann Arbor interested in athletics, as well fis all the people of Ann Arbor interested in athletics, had their minds fully employee) in the events ocouring on that ilay, tor besideg (he second day of the ínter High School meet taking place here ín thia city, there was the annual meet of the Western ínter Collegiate Amateur Athletíc Association on the boanis :it Chicago, in whicl) tlie University was greatly interested; and the meet of the Michigan College at Hillsdale, wbicli included the State mal átYpsilanti in its make up. Here in Ann Arbor the weather was perfect, the erowd large and enthusiastic. The result of the two day's contests in ]oii!ts, figure up as Eollows: Lansing 76, Detroit 56, Aun Arbor 47, Grand Rapids 41, Jackson 10 Adrián 0. Tliere were some protests liowever, on tlie above. The Ann Arbor winners werp : In the 120 yard hurdle, Williams, 2nd; 220 yds. hurdle, Bacb, 2nd ; 880 yds. run, Perrin, 3rd ; putting shot,' Bury, 2nd : running broad jutnp, Bacb, 3rd ; throwiug hammer, Bury, lst; rnnning hop, stop and jump, Bach, 3rd; quarter mile bicycle race, Butler, 2nd; half-mile bicycle, Butler, 2nd; two mile bicycle, Butler, 2nd ; one mile tandem, Banfield and Butler, lst. The meet was a great success in every way, and our boys feel very proud of it, even if tliey were obliged to take 3rd place. AT CHICAGO. In the IntercoUegiate meet at Chicago, Wisconsin carne in a winner in great shape, making a total of 47 points, while Michigan came next with only II), Minnesota 14, Chicasro 12, Leiand Stanl'urd 10, Lake Forest 5, Depauw and Griunell 3 each, and Northwestern 2. Michigan's record of winnings is: In preliminary rush, 2nd lieat, J. H. Thompson, 3rd; mile run, J. B. Wood, 2nd ;s preliminary 120 yards hurdle, 2nd heat, .T. F. McLean, 2nd ; final heat, J. F. Our tuin down the river did not make the record she ought to have made at Hillsdale, though she fought a plucky fight. The score of points figured up : Michigan Ag. College 69, Albion 07, Hillsdale 41, Kalamazoo 38, Olivet 20, Ypsilanti 17. It is possible that our Normal College boys could show up better in a literary contest of sotne kind.
