It is a statehouse story at Topeka hat Gov. Leedy, who, when he carne into office last Jarmary, declared that he would not use the porcelain bathtub which he inherited from his republican jredecessor, now refuses to use the lorcelain lavatory. It is equipped witb a supply appliance, which the gxnernor ïas not been able to "get the of," ind one day when he was unable to shut t off the water overflowed and deluged he floor. Gov. Leed's private seeretary rescued his chief, and as the latter ■merg-ed irom the bathroom his mnds and face, he deckled that a requisition be made for a tin wash bowl. "I im used to a tin bowl," he said. "It will not run over and drown me every time ! want to wash my face." The bowl was ougfht, and to-day it adorns a soap box n the bathroom.
