Miss Amelia McLaren is in Detroit for the week. Mrs. John Pankey and daughter have gone to Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Beal are visiting friends in Howell. Mrs. Lorenzo Thomas is the guest of friends in Detroit. Mrs. 0. Waldron, of S. State st., has gone to Bay View. Mrs. Rockwell is visitinp: her daughter Mis. Lathrop in Dexter. John Parker has returned from his visit to Cavanaugh Lake. Jodaon H. Warner and fainily are at Bay View for the summier. Mrs. Thos. Page and daughters have returned to Pontiac to live. Frank Condón and Burt Ellis are at Strawberry Lake this week. Miss Olive Finch, started Monday for au extended trip to Colorado. Wm. H. Dunlavy, of Dexter, is an Ann Arbor visitor for a few days. Ed. Krapf went to Whitmore Lake and Hamburg, Saturday awheel. Miss Cora Kelley has been visiting friends in Milan during the week. Mrs. Reginald Spokes and children have been visiting friends in Saline. Mr. and Mrs. Will Rettich have been in Dexter the past week with relatives. Frank Gilbert, of Detroit, spent a few days with Ann Arbor friends last week. William Goodyear is at Portage Lake with hia family, for a couple of weeks. Tom Moore, of Monroest. is spending a couple of weeks camping at Portage Lake. Mrs. Frederika Gilbert is the guest of H. M. Wood's family at Cavanaugh Lake. Miss Carrie Barker, of Whitmore Lake, spent Sundav with Ann Arbor friends. Mrs. F. A. Howlett and family turn home froin Oavanaugh Lake next Monday. Mis. Alexis Angelí and cbildreu are at her father's, Judge Cooley's for the summer. Miss Matilda H. Brown lias returned home from her trip to Northville, Walled Lake, etc. Mr. and Mrs. George Deugler leLt Friday for a ten day's stay at Cavanaugh Lake. Mrs. Edith "oble has been the guest oí Nina Howlett, at Cavanaugh Lake for the week. Mr. and Mrs. George Bliss have returned from their trip to California and the Pacific. Mrss. C. J. Snyder, of Gott st., and children have gone to Detroit for a stay of some weeks. Philip Bluin, Sr., left Friday for a trip up the lakes to Marquette and other places in the U. P. Geo. H. Snow, of the Detroit Eveuiug Xews staff, was in town Wednesday, greeting oíd friends. A. L. Robisou, of Manchester, has beeu a guest of Jas. W. Kobison and family duriug tlie week. Mayor Hiscock gave a number of his friends a trolley party to Ypsilanti and back last Friday evening. Steward Moore, of Monroe st., left Monday for Flint, Mich., where he will remain for several weeks. Dr. Fleming Carrow and Prof. Paul C. Freer, who have been up north fishing, have returned home. Miss Susie Dorrance of this city, was the guest of Miss May Alderman of Milan during the week past. Misses Lulu and Florence Southmayd leave for St. Clair Flats in a few days to remain the rest of the summer. Mrs. J. Lyman Jones nee Flynn, of Indianapolis, Ind., is back to her old home visiting relatives and friends. Dr. W. J. Herdman expects to go to Frankfort with his family about Aug. lst. Afterwards the Dr, wiU go east. Miss Alta Beal is visiting friends in Gregory. K. C. Barney has troue to Kalamazoo on business. Mis. Silas 1'. Hill is visiting relatives at Webberville. J. D. Mr. and Mrs. Johu Heinznian have gone to Bay City to visit relatives. Sana Andrews, once abookseller here, is looking over old scènes for a few days. Jas. D. Cook, foruierly of the St. James, has removed to Chicago permanently. Miss Irene Gilbert, of Packard st., spent a couple of weeks at Cavanaugh Lake. GotÜeib Schleiker, of Sandusky, Oliio, is visiting liis oíd home here for a few weeks. There is a bo}' at the liome of Mr. and Mrs. Higgins, and Geo. W. Bullis is a grand pa. Miss Olive Luick lias gone to Denver and other places in Colorado for a couple of months. Amariah Hammond, of the Northside is entertaining liis daughter Mrs. Weir, from Indiana. Mrs. W. B. Stickney and son Louis, are at the Occidental Hotel, Petoskey, for the summer. Miss Mathilda Kuhn, of E. F. Mills & Co., has returned from her vacation trip spent in Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Mills left yesterday for Detroit, from where they will go to the Georgian Bay. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Butterfield left Monday for their old home in Yermont to visit a week or two. E. H. S. Martin, lit. '97, is with bis father practicing law, office at 418 Jackson Bld'g., Chicago, 111. James A. LeRoy, lit '90, has accepted a place ou the Detroit Free Press. The F. P. alwaya was lucky. Chief of Pólice Sweet goes to Port Huron to-day to meet with the pólice superintendente of the state. Misses Eva Herbert and Anna Reilly have gone to Detroit, Cleveland and other places, on a vacation trip. Prof. and Mrs. Blakeslee of the school for the blind, at Lansing, are guests of Mrs. S. E. Marshall of Monroe st. Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Dodsley, who have been visiting their son Al., at Fargo, X. Dakota, are home again. Mr. and Mis. Gerhard Josenhans, and daughters Alma and Milda, have returned home froni a two week's oiiting. Miss Laura Greye, wlio liad been visiting at Manchester for three weeks, returned home to Ann Arbor last Friday4 The papers had Chas. A. Miss Martha Sheehan of Detroit, who has been the guest of Miss Martha Slater, of Tonipson st., has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Keith and son George, left last Saturday morniug for Detroit, Mt. Bennett and children are at the Cornelian Cottage, Islaud Lake, this week. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. McNairy and son Joe, of Lima, O., is visiting Mrs. McNairy's father, H. A. Moore, of Monroe st., for a few days. Ed. Parker has returned from lus trip to Northern Michigan where he went beuause of ill health. He has not improved to any extent. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown and daughters left to-day for Minneapolis, Minn., to visit Mr. Brown's brother and other relatives for a time. Herman I'ipp and wife, of Ann Arbor, visited at Mrs. Wm. They came here to help Mr. Eberbach celébrate his 8Oth birtliday last Sunday. People who rememlier Mrs. Hugh D. Mars who went to Los Angeles, Cal., from here some two years ago, will regret to learn that slie has been in poor health for some nionths. Air. and Mrs. lames S. Handy have gone to Lansing to visit friemls, and from there they go to Chicago, where he wül liang out his law office shingle. Mr. Handy is one of the brightest of the U. of M's alumni. The genial face of Karl C. Miner lias been missed for a time from our city. Heisnow at Long Islam!, and wül go from there to New York to practice his professiou and reside pennanently. Hon. J. T. Jacobs, who returned from Los Angeles, Cal., looking as if the trip did hini good, says that he is not advising any one to go to California. Michigan never looked so good to liim before as when he carne back.
