A new law relating to pedalera was enacted by the last legislature, and given iinmediate effect. The salient points of the law are in brief: "The people of the State of Michigan euact, That it shall not be lawful for any persOD to engage in the business of hawking, peddling or pawn-brokerage by going about from door to door or from place to place, or from stand to starfd, (.art, veliicle or iu any other inanner in the public streets, highways or in or apon the wharves, docks, open places or spaces, public grounds or public buildings in any township in the state, without flret having pbtamed of the township where such business is to be carried on a license tberefor." The above law was approved Jnne 2, 1S97, and was given immediate effect. Everybody who peddles except wholesale merchante, iinplement dealers, nurseryniei), etc, aelling by sample, or tliose selling fish or meat outeide of iucorporated villages and cities, shall procure a license frcm the town clerk the amount of which licenBe the town board sliall fix. The supervisor is required to see that the law is enforced, and any violation of it must be reported to the prosecuting attorney, who will proceed to prosecute. ■
