Anent the.recent inarnage of Ilarry Coleman to Aun L. Richards of this city, the Pontiac Gnzette says : Among. university students of the paft few years, thismarriage will be regard, d witli a great deal of interest. Both Mr. and Mrs. Coleman stood high in Ann Avbor as studente and in conuectii n ith university journalism, The foier's reputation is so well known he e ïat little need be said of him beyoi d j ie fact that he was in the aniversity wo yeara before he purchased the Post ! ïere, taking special work in preparati' n or a newspaper career. lüs pröm;ence tliere is indicated by the fact that ie was made the managing editor oí the U. of M. Daily. Mrs. Coleman is generally regarded 3 one of the brighest winnen graduatea ' great state institution oflearning. [er specialties there were mathematica, Orreek and philosophy, and in the immer particularly tlie was preeniinent mong woineu stndents for the specialzingshedid. She was a niimbei' of mes honored hy the class of '95 with rhich slie received the degree A. B., ith class offices and was also vice presdent of the Stiulents Christian Associaion. In purely literary lines she was s a contribntor to the aunnals and the nlander, and was managing editor of ie Student's Christian Association lulletin and associate editor of the '95 3astalian. The greatest honor she received tliere, ïowever, and probably the greatest ïonor a romas student ever received at lie hands of her fellow students, was ïer being chosen by the class of '95 to iresent its memorial, a bust of President Angelí, to the university on eommencenent week of '95. This was, in most respecta, tlie oratorcal honor of the occasion, and it was hought remarkable that so distinetly ratorical an honor should liave been estoved upon a woman. The class id 80 unanimously, liowever, and the easons are vvortli rehearsing. Miss iichards, as she was tlien, had been lated as class prophetess at the anuiial leetion, but had refused the place beause she thought some girl should be hosen among the girl's societies, called orroiites, which were being frozen out )y the "independents." So when the pecial honor of presenting the bust ame. up later, the class remembered be act and honored the one who had urrendered to another. Mrs. Colenan's ability as a speaker was shown ïere several times the past year.
