Peíerson has returned from his BOuthern trip. J. C. Watts, of Sagin&w, was in the city over Sunday. J. T. Jacobs was an Ann Arbor visitor to Detroit Tuesday. Mayor Robison was in Detroit last Friday and Saturday. Alex. Angel!, of Chicago, was home on a visit over Sunday. Louis Taylor was home from Chicago, íiunday and Monday. J. C. Knowlton was in Detroit Saturday, on legi.l business. Miss Inez Pitzgerald, of Manchester, is the guest of Mm. J. II. Stone. Charles Fantel, of St. Pau', visited friends in this city over Sunday. (i. Pennell, U. S. deputy marshal, of St. John, was in the city last Saturday. Frederick Schmid, of the firm of Mack & Schmid, is in New York buying goods. MUs Mame Benham, who is teaching school near Plymouth, is home on a visit. Mrs. Augusta Cleff will go to Chicago next week where iba will reside in the future. C. J. Hand, of Alma, formerly of this city, is in town shaking nands with cld friends. Mrs. Christ. Binder will leave next week j for Montana, where her husband lacated last fall. Frank Brown, son of the general superintendent of the M. C. R. R., was in the city Suuday. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Blitz, of Detroit, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Blitz over Sunday. D. C. Goodspeed, a former Ann Arbo%r boot and shoe merchant, was in the city the first of the week. Richard Kearns, of Detroit, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kearns, in this city, over Sunday. Sheriff Wahh took Bell, one of the Milan burglars, to Ionia, Monday. Bell will be absent one year. Mrs. Savilla Schoff and son, of Marshaltown, Iowa, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Schoff, on Division-st. Mise Mae Smiley, who waS the guest of Miss Mary Ashley, last week, returned to her home in Kalamazoo, Monday. Dr. Sheldon, of Manchester, was in the city the first of the week. The doctor contemplates removing to Hillsdale. T. F. Hill, who was called home last week to attend the funeral of L. C. Risdon, will remain during the summer. Dr. Porter, of Biy City, formerly of this city, is in the city this week, attendingthe meeting of the state dental association. A. C. Burrjham, of Battle Creek, formerly associated with R&ndall, the photographer, is in the city visiting friends. Hon. and Mrs. A. J. Sawyer, were in Stockbridge, Monday, attending the tenth auniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Gildart. John Lindenschmidt, with A. L. Noble, was very agreeable surprised, Tuesday evening, by a number of his friends calling upon him. Mrs. Wensen, who ha? been visiting at Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Allaby's, on East Washington-st, the past four weeks, returned to her home in Hasting?, Mich., today. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Hinman and Mrs. Ryan of Battle Creek, Wm. Beer?, of Algonac, and Mrs. Harnet Mead, of Saline, were among those who attended the funeral of L. O. Risdon, Sunday. The wife and son of Dr. Frank Kraft arrived here last week from Chanute, Kansas, their former home. Dr. Kratt has been here since abortly belore the holidays at which time he became associated with Dr. H. C. Allen, on the editorial etaff of tne Medical Advance. A. E. Jennings, O. L. Miller, W. H. Walker, C. V. Nafe, U. A. Loomis, E. 8. Shaw and A. C. Strickler have been speak ing for the amendment in different parta of the county. Meetings are being arranged for these and several more of the boya for next week. The boys report good meetings.
