Hollt, Mich., March22.- The Methodist Episcopal Church was crowdod to its utmost Sunday night to hear W. A. Taylor, ot Lansing, speak on the Prohibition amendmont question. A lew minutes after the s eeck began Arthur Hillman, who was passing, saw a light under the church, and fouml it to be a ball of rags saturated with kerosén. An alarm was given and the audience was immediately wild with excitement, and despite all efforts to quiet the ladics and ehildren mauv jumped over the seats and rushed for the door; several ladies fainted. The ball was lighted and thrown into a small hole under the church and boards placed against the wall to hide the blaze. The church is the largest in t vn and is a wood structure. Tho audienceroom is in the second story. The guilty person is supposed to be an anti-Prohibitionist. The village will offer a reward for the perpetrator, and the act will be the means of carrying the whole town for Prohibition.
