Monroe Commercial: Hon. Edward D. Kinne, of Anu Arbor.who was nominated last week by the republicans of this judicial circuit, as tbeir candidato for circuit udge, is one of the best selections that could have been made. Mr. Kinne has had some twenty yearg of active law practico, has been acareful student, and is, a fair minded, honest, able, thoroughly competent and clean cut man, of a judicial turn of mind, and possesses just the qualities that go to make up the able, just and righteous judge. That he 'is popular at home, and possesses the good opinión and confidence of his fellow citizens without regard to party, is shown by the fact of bis having been elected mayor of his own city, which usually gives a large democratie majority, and also serving one term in the Michigan legislature. Mr. Kinne is in every way eatitfed to and 6hou!d receive the full republican vote of Monroe counly. Dundee Reporter : We learn that Hon. E. 1). Kinne has finally been perauaded to accept the republican nomination for circuit judge for thia judicial circuit, deeming such acceptsnee to be ia accordance with the wishes and demands of his party iriends in both counties comprisirg the circuit. Th8 action of his will be hailed with eatisfaction throughout the circuit, as it insures the election of an able and first class judge, whichever of the candidatos may receive the majority of votes. Mr. Kinne is an attorney with eminent fibilities, and is generally regarded as the leadiog member of the Washtenaw county bar, with experience of an extensivo practice in all courts of the state, and his services are frequently sought for in various portions of the state. Is in the prime of life, a gradúate of the University and enjoys a great amount of popularity among his fellow citiaens of Ann Arbor and Washtenaw county. For two years was mayor of Ann Arbor, has also" been recorder, city attorney, and held other official positions. Was a representativo in state legislatura session of 1881 2, and acquired reputation of being a leading member of that body. As a candidate for circuit judge he will make a strong run, and should he be elected will make an official who will rank among the best judges of the state.
