W. S. Hicks is in New York city. Eli W. Moore was in Toledo Tuesday. J. W. Hamilton was in Detroit Monday. J. H. Clough left Monday for an eastern trip. The annual saorifice of whiskers bas begun. State Auditor General Alpine is in the city. Miss Bessie Richardson is home from Marshall. James Jones, of Port Huron, is in the city, visiting his mother. Mrs. O. E. Jones was in Milan, visiting her husband over Sunday. Mies Wiloox, of Detroit, is the guest of Miss Shiell, on Madison-st. Wm. Tuomey, of the Two Sams, visited a friend in Chelsea Sunday. Mrs. E. T. Bradley, of Division-st, is visiting relatives in Chicago. Geo. Moore, of Detroit, was m the city, the latter part of last week. E. C. Jenter, of Manchester, visited his parents in this city over Sunday. Mrs. Louis Blitz, of Detroit, is the guest of Mrs. S. S. Blitz, on W. Fourth-st. C. H. Huntington, of Delta, Ohio, is the new clerk at the T. & A. A. depot. Dr. Kapp and Henry Kirchoffer, of Manchester, were in the city Monday. Dr. Sullivan left Thursday evening for Ft. Worth, Texas, to visit an uncle. Prof. C. J. Lundy, of Detroit, was the guest of Dr. Frothingham, over Sunday. Mrs. Dr. F. A. Sawyer, of Wareham, Mass., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. H. Bandall. Theodore Koger and Henry George, of Detroit, spent Easter with their parents m this city. Ed. Henriques, ef New Mexico, has been in the city the past few days visiting old friends. K. Wert Groom, law '85, formerly manager of the Chequamegon orchestra, was in the city over Sunday. After the glee club concert, Thursday evening, Geo. R. Haviland will leave for his summer resort on Lake Gogebeck. J. L. Stone, C. S. Fall, C. B. Woodward and D. J. Loomis were out to Strawberry lake several days the past week fishing. Geo. A. Isbell and wife left last evening for Denver, Col, where Mr. Isbell has accepted a position in a large wholesale piano house. Mrs. J. C. Ostrander, of Midland, O., Mrs. D. L. Ostrander, of Milan, and Mrs. Ellen Muir, of Green Springs, O., arè the guests of Mrs. O. G. Wales. Between fifty and sixty of the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Sperry were handsomely entertained at their residence, in Pittsfield, on Thursday evening last D. S. Millen has accepted the position of superintendent of the Chicago Chemical and Soap works, and will leave for that city as soon as he can close up his business here. The announcement has just been made of the marriage of Miss Nettie Gregg, for the past seven years a clerk in Sohairer's dry goods store, to Louis R. Drake, in September last. Mr. and Mrs. Laubengayer, of Scio, celebrated their golden wedding the 5th inst., only a few of their near relatives being present. The bridesmaid and groom who stood up with them when they were married were also present. Mrs. G-eo. Gibner, of California, arnyed in the city Sunday night, to spend tbe nimmer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. Kennedy, on Fourth-st. Miss Julia Kennedy, who has been spendin? the winter with her sister in California, returned with her. Albert E. Schulz and Miss Louisa Kurtz, formerly of Ann Arbor, were married in Detroit last week. Mr. Schulz has accepted a situation in San Diego, Cal., and will leave for that place the Í5th. He was formerly an employee of The Register, and we predict for him much suocess.
