Dexter is experiencing quite a building boom. Miss Kate Surridge, of MilaD, has gone to Dakota. Portage Lake promises to be a popular resort this summer. Miss Nano? Simp30n has opened a millinery store in MiIid. Jefford post Gr. A. R, of Dexler, wil] observe memorial day. The Milán rink ha9 been turned in an agricultural implement store. Work on the new school house at Dexter, is being rapidly pushed ahead. The Milán council have resolved to loan their road scraper - for $5 per day. John Cook and M. H. Begole constitute the board of review of Pittsfield township. Wm. Stevens, of Birkett, will carry the mail from Birkett to Dexter another year. The Bndgewater fcemetery is being improved which adds much to its appearance. The masons of Manchester, will decórate the graves ot deceaged fraters, Sundav May 29th. ' Rev. ƒ. M. Getchell will preach the memorial sermón for the Manchester O. A. R, on Sunday afternoon, May 29th. Burglars entered Mart Dewey's house, in Bridgewater, last Wednesday night and took a watch, $6 in change, a quantity of beans and escaped. Married, Wednesday, May 4th, at the residence of the bride's mother, in Dexter township, by ReT. S. Hene, Miss Minnie Neeb, to Mr. Seymour S. Seney, of Lima. Wednesday of last week was the 7Oth birthday of Mrg. Harmon Allen, of Milan, and the occasion waa celebrated by a family reunión, a surprise to the old people. The ladies of Dexter, have purchased for the G. A. R. post of that village a handsome banner, which will be presented to the post on the morning of Decoration day. Since March lat there have been 6570 dozens of eggs marketed at Bridgewater and shipped to eastern points, showmg that the merchante are doing some business. Dexter is infested with a gang of loafers eyery Saturday evening, wiiose only mbition in life seemg to be to tnake themselves obnoxious to ladies who are passing by. Dexter Leader: Fifteen tombstones sent by the government tobe erected over the unmarked graves of soldiers, arrived by freight on Monday of this week. They are of white raarble, 3 feet high, 12 inches wide and 3 inches thick, and are mscribed wnh the aoldier'g name, age, regiment and company. They will be at once put up under the auspices of Jefford Post, G. A. R. Dr. C. F. Unterkircher, who has been located at Bridgewater for nearly a year, has removed to Saline, where he will be found practiciag bis professicu in the future. Samuel W. Campbell, of Ypsilanti towu, claims the first premium on raising lambs this season. He has 61 ewes and 83 lambs. One ewe had t-iplets, all large aud now doing nicely.
