Washington, May 16. - Associate Justice William B. Woods, oí the United States Supreme Court, died at Washington Saturday. He was a soldier of distinction in the late war, and had been on the Supreme benen since 1SSO. His death creates a vacancy for President Cleveland to filL He was born at Newark, O., was a gradúate of Yale College, in 1845, and in 1S4' began the practiee of law. He was a member of the Ohio Legislatura several years, and was also State Chancellor.
