Chicago, May 17. -Extensivo preparations are being made for the great International Sunday-School convention which meets in this 4ty on the night of the 31st and continúes June 1, 2, 3 and 4. Battery D has been engaged and wiü have chairs to accommodate 6,000 persons soou in place. Nearly all oí the railroads in the United States have made arrangements to return at one-third íare all wbo Day full íare to the convention. The Grand Trunk and Intercolonial railroads of Canada will sell a trip ticket good until July 15. tJpecial arrangements have been made for an excursión from New England at a fixed rate of thirty dollars from Boston to Chicago and return starting via the Hoosao Tunnel, and giving the choice to return via the other routes. There will also be an excursión train from New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore via the Baltlmore & Ohio with a round trip rate of twenty dol;lars to twenty dollars and seventy-fiva cents; all lines within the State of Illinois will return those paying full f are to the convention at one-third rate. In all cases persons wishing to avail themselves of reduced ratea must receive from Mr. B. F. Jacobs, chairman of the Execut-ive Cotnmittoe, N o. 99 Washington street, oertificates, wbich will be furaished on application. The full certificates, entitling the holders to hospitality and admission to the delégate seats in the convention are only granted to delegates appointed by the various State, Territorial or Provincial organizations, but all who desire to attend may have the certificates for reduced fare on application. ; The prospects are that the attendance will be very large. Seventeen names ara already reported from the Province of New Brunswick, and intelligence from the East state that there is considerable enthusiasm over the excursión trains. Michigan has applied for the tull quota of fifty-two delegates and fifty-two alternates; Iowa sends for one hundred; Kansas and Missouri announce that their quota will be fulL At the Illinois Stato fBunday-School convention Friday etghtyeight delegates and eighty-eightalternates were appointed.
