Mrs. Joe. Saunders tg visiting friends in Chicago. The Normalities are busily preparing for "the last days." Willard Fletcher is clerking in Howell & Palmer's grocery. Mr. Henry Jenness, of Detroit, was in our city Monday on business. Ypsilanti's healing mineral waters are attracting invalids to the city daily. Mrs. Cyrus Barnes and daughter have been visiting at Chas. Barnes this week. Mr. Charles Ferrier is making over his house on Adams street into a beautiful residence. Messrs. Will McCorkle and Conway Frost, of Detroit, spent Sunday at Dr. McCorkle's. The foundations for the saings bank business block, on Congress street, will soon be laid. Miss Pamelia Noble, of Ann Arbor spent several days of last week witb her brother, A. M. Noble. Mrs. A. Latble, daughter Rose and baby grandson, of Detroit, are visiting at Mrs. Capt. Richards, on Cross itreet. Mrs. Nellie Yerkes and grandmother, Mrs. Bancroft are visiting Mrs. Y's sister, Mre. Crosby, in Cass city, Mich. Quite as much building is going on this Mimmer as last, and our beautiful city is being quite improved m this line. Mrs. John Taylor and W. A. Graves, have had their Huron street homes greatly improved by fresh coate of paint. Miss Ă‹milie Hall, teacher in the Union school building, is spending a snort time in Detroit in consequenoe of ill health. Mrs. Mary Young and daughter, who have been visiting Mrs. Elizabeth Hayes, left Saturday night for their western home. Decoration day will be more fully observed than usual this year. The citizens, G. A. R and schools will particĂ­pate in the exe cises. Miss Rena Bowling leaves for Niles, and Chicago, the later part of the week, at which cities she will visit for some lensfth of time. Cleary's business college has a f uil count of aammer students. More room is sadly needed as the school has enlarged beyond all expectations. Doctor and Mrs Watling and daughter Lueille start for New York, Wednesday, from whence they will sai! the following Saturday for Europe. The Ypsilanti dress-stay factory has been moved ia to more commodious quarters. A fine gas engine has lately been added to its many improvements. Are you folks going to bore for gas ? asked one citizen ot another the other day. " O, I gas so," was the reply. This item sounds very gassy, but it is a solemn statement of facts. A. M. Noble and aon-in-law, George WHill will move to Detroit soon, as Mr. Hill's business is such as to necessitate his spending a great deal of his time in the city of the Straks. Several of our bicyclists made a run over to " Athens " yesterday morning. It was delightful wheeling after the rain of the previous day. By the way, why can't we b'ys have a wheel tournament. There are enough of us in the two cities to make a fine whirl. Doctor Hale, recent superintendent of the Ypsilanti Sanitarium, has set forth his alleged wrongs at the hands of George Moorman, in a lengthy circular which has been pretty freely distributed among our citizens. The action was hardly necessary as the majority of the citizens were in sympathy with his cause any way, and ccarcely any of the disclosures made were entirely unknown to the people of our city. '
