Washington, May 12.- President Cleveland has appointed James W, Hyatt, of Connecticut, to be Treasnrer oí the United States, to succeed Conrad N. Jordán, resigned. The change makes it necessary to count over $60,000,000 in silver, $35,000,000 in gold, $2,000,00üm silver change, and other moneys aggregating $95,000,000, and will keep nfteen men busy two months.
