Investigating A Strange Horse Disease
Ci-raToíf, IU., July 9.- The State Board of Irive-Stock Commissioners has been invesligrating the venercal disease that has prevailed among horses in this county the past year. It is known as maladie du coit, and notaing whatever is known regarding its treatment. The disease had its origin in this county, and does not exist anywhere else in the United States. At present several hundred horses are afflicted with it, and the only way the disease can be eradicated is by their gradual dying oft Suca was the conclusión of the board. Quarantining wiü begin immediately, and the breeding of diseased stock dropped. It is likely the board will again meet here soon.
