Jeff Davis Denounces Prohibition

Fort Wokth, Tex., Au. 2.- On theoccasion of the State barbecue here on the 26th inst. a strong letter was read irom Jefferaon Davis to ex-Governor Lubbock, denouncing prohibition, on the Kround that the world is governed too much. A reply to Mr. Davis' letter f rom Senator Joha H. Regan ha been made public. It expresse surprise and sorrow that Mr. Davis should have taken sides on thequestion. Senator Reagan says that the Davis letter has cost prohibition thouSiinds of votes in Texas.
