Stueator, 111., Auff. 4. - The thermometer regis tered 1Ü3 degrees in thejshade yesterday. New York, Aug. 5. - There is no abatement of the extreme heat which has characterized neariy the vvhole month past, and fatal cases of sun-stroke occur dailv. Buffalo, N. Y., Aug. 5 - Yesterday was ' the hottest day ever known in this city. In the steet, in the shade, at one o'clock the thermometer registered 99 degrees. Chicago, Aug. 5.- Extreme heat still prevaiW in this city, and the cases of sunstroke are numerous. Peku, Ind., Aug. 6.- With the continued warm weáther comes an epidemie of sicknes3 throughout this county. Every thing is bterally baked, and the state of the health ani crops deplorable. Many serious cases of prostration are reported. The mercury registered 104 at noon yesterday. PiTTSBunoH.Pa., Aug. 6.- Five fatal casca of sun-stroke were reported in this city yesterday, and, with a humid atmosphere, the thermometer registered ninety-two degrees.
