Investigating Queer Financial Transactions

San Francisco, Aug. 9.- Lato advices from Honolulú state that the Hawaiian Government is investigatinff the peculiar transactions of the syndicate which placed the recent national loan in England. The contract with tha syndicate allowed five per cent, commission and two per cent, f or expenses, and it is claimed that the syndicate atterapted to squeeze large sums out of the Government for allegel expenses in addition to the amonnts to which it was entitled under the contract.
