Struck A Thick Vein Of Coal

Matoon, 111., Aug. 16.- At adepthof 650 feet the operators who are prospecting for gas passed through a vein of coal Bix feet thick. The vein being mined by the Matoon Mining Company is forty-two inches thick, but it is already opening up a new mine which will develop the large vein.
