Chicago, Aug. 22.- Keports from varlous points throughout the West agree that the recent raine carne too late to be of much valué to the con crop. Dakota alone reporte the condition of the crop above the average. Pasturage was revived by the rains, and a fair supply of fall f eed is anticipated. The yield of potatoes is short on account of the prolonged droughtj The apple crop is light Cattle are improving in condition.
