Dave Dodge, Jr., has returned from his southern trip. Mr. Fred Rathbon and family have moved into the city. Mrs. Will Post, of Detroit, is visiting at her father's, Mr. Fred Rathbon. The exhibits in all departments at the fair this year are better than usual. Geo. Alexander, late with Goodspeec & Sons, is now book-keeper at Harris Bros.' grocery store. Mrs. William Ball, of Hamburg, has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. L Saunders, the past week. Mrs. C. D. Towne, of Elk Rapids, and Mrs. Will Snyder, of Petoskey, are visiting at Geo. McElcheran's. Rev. Mr. Scofield and wife, from Dallas, Texas, were the guests of the latter's mother, Mrs. Cooper, last week. Don Phillips, recently of this city, now an oculist of Rochesfer, spent Sunday with his parents, on Prospect-st. Four electric towers are up, and afford splendid advantages for the youthful climbers of our city to break their necks. The Grand Rapids cricket club played our club last Saturday, and got beaten. The score stood 101 to 107 in favor of the Ypsi's. And still another bustle manufactory added to our list. This one is frorñ Columbus, Ohio. Who says we are not fond of bustle here? We're wide awake, we are. The Ladies' Foreign Missionary synodical meeting will be held at the Presbyterian church next week Tuesday and Wednesday. About two hundred ladies from abroad are expected. The threatening state of the weather nearly frightened the fair people out of their usual .peace of mind. Howeyer, visitors are making up for loss of time by crowding to the grounds today. Rev. Mr. McLean and wife celebrated the tenth anniversary of their marriage and the fifth anniversary of his connection with St. Luke's church, last Friday evening. It was a very enjoyable affair. The Ypsilanti dress stay factory has begun the manufacture of their goods in Windsor. Mr. Steve Bowling and Misses Densmore and Adams will have the superintendency of the new factory.
