Dayton, O., Sept. 27.- A hard trost Saturday rnorning killed the late leaf tobáceo stand, which wül ainount to about 2,000 boxes of seed leaf to the growers of the valey, and u tterly ruined the late vegetable prospect. KNOXvrLLE, Tenn., Sept 26.- A light but not very damaging frost was observed throughout East Teunessee Saturday niorning. Aurora, HL, Sept 26.- The first heavy frost of the season struck tbis section Friday night, the merciiry dropping below 32 degrees. Mokkis, 111., Sept 26.- Friday night the frost was quite severe. There have been before three light frosts, but this was the first that did any damage. Beloit, Wis., Sept. 28.- The" mercury reached the freezing point Friday night, and every thing was covered with a thick frost. The crops are out of the way of injury. Paxton, 111., Sept. 26.- The thermometer marked 50 degrees above zero Friday night, and went down to the freezing point before morning. Clinton, 111., Sept 27.- A heavy frost fe3 here Friday u'ght, the first of the season. Some little of the late corn was dainaged to a elight extent, but will result in nothiiig serious. Hillsboko, Hl., Sept 27.- There was a heavy frost in this section Friday night Water in exposed places froze. Corn in tlie bottoms was damaged some. Fakmington, Me., Sept 27.- Snow feil north of here Sunday moming, covering the tops of the Old Blue and other mountains. Lynchbuko, Va, Sept. 27.- There was a frost throughouii the about here Sunday night, and there are fears of great loss in the tobáceo erop, estimated at onethird of the erop vet in the fleld. Evansville, Ind , Sept. 27.- The growing tobáceo has been serionsly injured by frosts in the región of country in Southern Illinois and Indiana and Kentucky, of whieh this is the center. The erop in the bottom lands is badly injured. It is too soou to estimate the loss.
