Albany, N. Y. , Dec. 25. -Daniel J. Manning, ex-Secretary of the Treasury, died at the residence of nis son in this city yesterday afternoon. Mr. Manning was bom in Albany August lt, 1831, was a poor boy, and at the age of 11 years went into the Argwt oflice aa an errand boy. He advanoed rapidly, and in 1873 was in sole charge of that paper. He was an acti ve politician, was a member, since 1876, of the State Democratie Committee, and was warmly interested in Mr. Cleveland's nomination f or President Af ter the election he entered the Cabmet as Secretary of the Treasury, but resigned in the slimmer of 1886, owing to poor health. Mr. Manning leaves a wife, two sons and a daughter. Albany, N. Y, Dea 28.- The funeral of Daniel J. Manning, ex-Secretary of the Treasury, occurred here yesterday afternoon. President Cleveland and several members of the Cabinet attended from Washington, and many other distinguished persons were present
