Wakefield Wrecked
Detkoit, Mich., Dec. 28.- The iire whlch broke out inWakeüeld, Mich., Sunday nlght burned the best part of the town. The total loss is estimated at $100,000. The insurance is smalL The Ure started in a variety theater, and was caused by a monkey which oyerturaed a lamp. Among the principal buildings burned are the Wakefield Bank, Haywood, Westcott & Murray's large general store, the post-offlue, B. A. Morris' jewelry store, Millenthal's clothlng store, the Coliseum Theater, in which tha fire started, a dozen saloons and a larga number of dwelling houses- about forty buildings in al!. A great deal of merchandise was saved from the burning buildings. Many families are homeless and penniless.
