The Chicago Times, in describing the Chamber concert given in Madison-st theatre, Jan. 1G, pays Miss Julia Caruthers, of Ann Arbor, a fine compliment It says : "8he Í3 very plainly an artist who studies clo8e!y the inspiration and meaning of the composers. She displays excellent technic with both right and left hand, playing octave passages particularly well." The Chicago News, in i:s report of the same concert at which Misa Caruthers played, says of her: "As Miss Caruthers appeara hkely to be heard iiom herealter, it is proper to say that in peron and in manner at the piano she bcara a striking resemblance to Mme Rive-King. She has the game repose, the same ímplicit conñdence in the success of her per formance, and the same atmophere of simplicity. Her playing was masterly for sj young a pianist - artistic in the best sense. With continued study she should make one of the best artists this country has produced." The Élite News of Chicago also praises Miss Caruther's performance at that concert.
