Carsey is head, has issued a cali for a National convention, to be held in this city on August 1 next Washington, Feb. 10. - The caucus of the Democratie members of the House Wednesday afternoon for the parpose of seiecting representativeson the Democratie Congressional Committee resulted in the choice of the following named persons: Alabama, James T. Jones; Arkansas, Thomas C. McRae; California, T. L. Thompson; Connecticut, R. J. Vanee ; Delaware, J. B. Pennington ; Florida, R. H. M. Davidson ; Georgia, T. W. Grimes; ülinois, R. W. IQ.- A convenüon was held here yesterday which organized the Henry George United Labor party in; Kansas. Delegates were present from all! parta of the State. The platform adopted! at the Syracuse convention was adopted en-, tire, and it was decided to put a full ticket in the field this year. New Yokk, Feb. 10.- Deepite the fact that Henry George has deelared against the nomination of an independent candidate tor the Fresidency by the United Labor party this year and announced his preferenoe for Mr. Cleveland, it is altogether likely that the party will put a candidate in nomination. This opinión is advanced by labor leaders NASHVnj.E,Tenn., Feb. 10.- The Republicana of Tennessee will hold their State convention in this city on May 16 next to elect delegates to the National convention. Jacxson, Mich., Feb. 10.- The State convention of Republicana to elect delegates to the National convention will be held in this city April 4. Chicago, Feb. 11.- The Republican subcommitte of the National Committee, who were in this city yesterday orranging the preliminary details for the National convention, chose General Fitz-Simons for eergeantat-arms, and Mayor Roche as chairman of the executive and fi nance mittea Mr. Clarkson, chairman of the I committee, said he had already received OTex 2,000 appUcations for tickets. The hall will seat 7,500 persons, and that number of tickets will be issued. Annapolis, Md, Feb. 13.- A bilí has been Introduced in the Legislature making it a penalty íor registered voters to fail to vote. Madison, Wís., Feb. 14.- A convention of Republican clubs for the formation of a Btate League will be held in this city on Maren 15. C0LUMBV3, O.. Salt Lake, U. T., Feb. 15.- The en tire fusión municipal ticket was elected Monday. Out of a total registration oí 3,600 fusionists they polled 1,800 and the Gentiles 900. Deïboit, Mich., Feb. 15.- Tnscola, Oceola and Charlevoix counties voted for local option yesterday, the majorities running 1,500, 1,000 and 800, respectively. Madisou, Wia, Feb. 15.- A cali was isBued by the llepublican State League for a convention in Madison Maren 15. lt states that every club organized before March 10 ís requested to send delegatvs to the convention. The object and purposos of the convention are to organize a permanent State league, establish permanent headquarters for the State league, ftx a time and place íor holding the next league convention, and move particularly to períect plana for the iormation of permanent local clubs throughout the State, and actively to stimnlate and encouragpe their speedy organizaron and enrollment with the State league. Pobtland, Me., Feb. 15.- Hannibal Hamlin expressed the opinión yesterday that the effect of Mr. Blaine's letter would be to canse him to be nominated by acclamatlon. Coldmbus, O., Peb. 15.- The Eepublioan State Central Committee has decided to liold the State convention for the nomination oí the candidates for State offlcers and to select delegates at larere to the National convention April 18 and 19 at Dayton. Maequette, Mich., Feb. 15.- The Congressional election yeeterday in the Eleventh district resulted in favor of Seymour (Rep.), who defeated Breen (DemocratLabor), by about 200 raajority.
