Solomon Sutherland

He died in the township of Green Oak, Livingston county, on Jan. 31, 1888, aged 54 years and 11 monthg. Solomon Sulherland was the youngest of the 11 children of Colonel Sutherland, who carne to Michigan in 1829, settled in Ann Arbor, and removed to the township of Scio in 183'2 where one year later Solomon was boro. When Solomon was 4 years old tbe family moved to Deerfield, and when he was eiht years old, hu mother died. Soon alter nis death he came to Ann Arbor to live with hls oldest brother, S.imutl Sutherland, where he continued to reside antil about 16 years of age, when he went to Argentine, Genesee county, to learn tbe blacksmiih trade with hu brother, Castle Sutherlaad. Deo. 31, 1856, he marr.ed Miss Sarah H. Myerx, who still survives him, and be remained in Argentine three yearg, then removed to the townsbip of Green Oak, Livingston county, on the farm where he tied. He lelt a wife and three children, the youngest son haviog died b ut 15 months ago.
