Uncle Tom's Cabio at the opera house Saturday afternoon and evening. Prof. Gayley will deliver his lecture on "The Land of Black Hunger" in the Congregational church this evening. Clara Louise Kellogg wilt ging in the opera house March 5. The first part of her protram will be concert, and the second part will be devoted to scènes from two or three operas in costume. Rev. J. H. Vincent who lectures on " That boy " in University hall, neit Saturday eveDing, is Chancellor of the Chatauqua circle, and is a popular lecturer of great power. He ought to be greeted by a large audience. The mothers' meeting for February will be held in Hobart hall on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at 3 o'clock p. m. By request Mrs. S. Hendrickaon will again read her eay on ''The Home." Mrs. Dr. Darling will read an essay on "Heredity." Rev. J. T. Sunderland will preach next Sunday morninp, at the Unitarian church on "Keas-ons why J. think all should vote for Loc8l Option." The evening service wül be adjourned that the congregation may join in the union temperance meeting at the rink. The next pomological meeting will be held March 3, at 2 p. m., in the basement of the court house. Prof. V. M. Snauldini? will talk on Michigan trees. Erwin F. Smith will talk on (he diseases of the peach tree, and J. Gaiizhorn will discuss new peach trees and the outlook for the peach erop. Bronson Howard, the noted dramatist who ha been spending a few months in Ann Arbor in quiet literary work, has consented to leciure in the Ladies' Library building next Monday night, on "The autobiography of a play." It will be a great treat, as he Í3 the leading dramatist of Amena and is a lecturer worth hearing. He lectured in Detroit recently, aod a short accouat ot it wiU be found on the secoud page. The next meeting of Unity club, Feb. 27, will be devoted to the great tone master! Beethoven. Selections from bis works, a sketch of his life and an essay upon the man and his time, by Prof. C. B. Cady, will form a program of more than usual interest. From his instrumental works there will be given a complete sonata for piano, part of a sonata for piano and violin, thé celebrated Romanza for violin, 'cello, and the Seventh Symphony arranged for violin, 'cello and piano, four hands. From his vocal works, Adelaide and a number of his fhorcer song?, also a quartette from the opera Pídelo.
