Important Business Changes
Furniture circles in Ann Arbor have been interested during the past week in important changes in furniture business firms. There have been no new furniture stores started ; but last Thursday the firm of Koch & Haller was dissolved, Mr. Halier retaining the stock and business at the old stand on Main-st. Last Tuesday, Mr. Koch perfected his purchase of Richmcnd & Treadwell's furniture store at the old Keek stand. Koch & Haller formed a copartnership about five years ago. Mr. Koch had been engaged with Mr. Keek for several years when, about 1881, he started a furniture store in the building now used by Werner & Brenner's grocery on Main-st. He held this store till he went into business with Mr. Haller. Mr. Haller tormerly had been in the jewelry business with his brother, George Haller. Richmond & Treadwell purchased the Keek furniture store in December, 1886, soon after the well-known failure, and have continued the business there till this time. Mr. Koch, who now assumes the business, unquestionably will make it a lively one. The old firm left a fine stock of goods, and the new proprietor will sustain its reputation. Martin Haller, at tbe old stand of Koch & Haller, has a beautiful display of al! that is useful and ornamental in the way of furniture. Ann Arbor has some fine furniture stores ; there is no neoessity of going out of town to fit a house or office in that respect.
