Dr. J. L. Rose is in Kansas on a business trip. Mrs. R. F. Sanford ia visiting relatives in New York. Miss Nellie Hoban is visiting friends in K st Saginaw. Dr. D. P. McLaohlin, of York, ws in town Tuesday. Ernest Brown, of Farwell, is in town a guest of Mr. Kelley. Mrs. B. Collins, of Charlotte, is visiting MUp Emina BanSeld. Wïlli, of Buffalo, lit. of U. of M. 69, came to Ann Arbor this week to attend the funeral of his mother. Dr. C. B. Porter and wife, of Bay City, are vishing their daughter Alice, a teacher in the Ann Arbor high school. M'. and Mrs. Martin Seabolt attended the funeral of Mrs. Moore, in Ypsilanti, who formerly lived in Ann Arbor. Miss Mary West, of Chicago, s expected today to spend a few days wilh Miss Jane Alahon, of Washington-st. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Miley gave a very pleasant party at their home, to about 25 of their fnende, last Thursday evening. Mrs. E. T. Loeftler, who was thrown from a carriage last week, and sprained her ankle, is able to be about the house again. Fred Sihniid, of the firm of Mack & Schmid, went to New York city, last Saturday, to be gone about two weeks, purchasing goodg. Seward Cramer, of A' n Arbor, goes to Toledo some time this week to stand an examination before the U. S. civil service commission for a pos-ilion as civil engineer. Miss Millie Treraper left last Saturday to teach at Peebles' corners, Salem township. On Friday eveniug she gave ner friends a plea-ant entertainment at her home. There was a progresive euehre party at J. D. Stimson's last Thursday evening, in which Mr. Carey and Mrs. Ld. Eberbach won the first prizes, aud Mrs. Carey and Sedgwick James the "b lobv" prizes.
