Our Dumb Animals
To the Editor of The Register : Sib: - Not long since there appeared in your columns several articles pleading the cause of our dnmb animáis, and of later date another on the same subject by Prof. Nichols. Why should a matter so deserving of notice be dropped ? Is it not worthy the attention of our people ? A visitor in our city recently remarked to me that many of the poor horsea driven on our streets, and abusad by theirdrivers, were a shameful disgrace to the entire place, and eaid that in a smaller place where he resided, if such animáis were seen as he had noticed whi'e here, their masters would be arrested at once. It was a Rurprising fact to him that a place which has a reputation for culture and refinement as has Ann Arbor should allow euch a blot to exist in its midst. Let our citizeng take sorne active part towards suopressing the wrong.
