Lester Wallack's Benefit

New Yokk, May 22. - The Metropolitan Opera-House was thronged last night on the occasion of the actors' benefit to Mr. Lester Wallack. The play was "Hamlet," and Messrs. Edwin Booth, Lawrence Barrett, Joseph Jefferson, W. J. Florence, John Gilberfc, Frank Mayo, Herbert Kei cey, Mme. Modjeska, Rose Coghlan and pther famous actors and actresses appeared in the cast The beneficiary made a short speech of thanks, his voice at times trembling with emotion. Mr. Booth, who had to respond to two encores, played his part in a superb manner. The total receipts are $21,300, of which Mr. Wallack will receive about $20,000.
