Portland, Ore., June 7.- Fuller returns from the election on Tuesday increaso the Rcpublican majority on the State ticket to 7,000 and gave that party seventy members on joint ballot in the Legislatura to the Democrats twenty. Rock Island. 111., June 8.- The Republican convention, Eleventh district, renominated William H. Gest, of Rock Island, for Congress. Ixdianapolis, Ind., June 8.- The Republican State convention for the nomination of a State ticket will be held in this city August 8. Mercer, Pa,, June 9.- W. C. Culbertson, of Erie County, has been nominated lor Congress by the Kepublicans oí the Twenty-sixth district. Chicago, June 12.- All the delegations to the National Republican convention have secured their hotel accommodations, withthe exception of those f rom Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas, Utah and the District of Columbia. The three first named will, in all probability, find rooms at the Sherman, with the proprietor of which they are negotiating. Where the delégales from Utah and the District of Columbia will go no one has any idea. Chicago, June 12.- Colonel AbncrTaylor was nominated for Congress yesterday by the Republicans of the First district. New York, June 13.- The Union Republican Club passed last night resolutions expressing the hope that James G. Blaine be seiected as the standard-bearer by the convention at Chicago despite the letter declining to run. Portland, Me., June 13.- Tlie Maine State Republican convention held here Tuesday nominated Mr. Bu#eigh for Governor on the first ballot. The resolutions denounce the President's message, the Mills bill, and f ree trade,and censure the ment for its course in the fisheries dispute. President Cleveland is cSarged with bypocrisy in the enforcement of the civilservice law ; and prohibition is indorsed. The mention of Mr. Blaine evoked great enthusiam. Montpei.iek, Vt., June 13.- The Prohibitionist9 held their State convention here vesterday and named full ticket, headed by Prof. Henry M. Seeley, of Middlebury, for Governor. Wateíívili.e, Me., June 13.- The Union Labor State convention met in this city yesterday and nomiaated W. H. Simmons for Governor. Resolutions were adopted favoring postal banks, Government control of telegraphs and railroads and an inj come tax, and denouncing the importation of labor and fusión with other partios. Springfielo. 111., June 13.- Francis A. Hoffman, Jr., of Chicago, was chosen yesterday by the State Central Committee to fill the vacancy on the Democratie State ticket caused by the ref usal of Charles H. Wacker to accept the nomination of State Treasurer. John C. Campbell, of Streator, was chosen chairman of the committee, vice E. M. Phelps, resigned. Newport, K. I., Jujie 13.- The Legislature yesterday re-eleeted Jonathan Chace (Rep.) United States Senator, and then adjourned until the third Tuesday in January, 1889.
