A Respite Granted

Si. Louis, July 13. - Governor Morehouse yesterday refused to commute the sentnce of Hugh M. Brooks, the murderer oí Arthur Preller, but granted liim a respite Mnt.il August 10. The murder was oommitted in the Southern Hotel in this city April 14, 1885. Brooks escaped to Auck land, New Zealand, where he was captured and brouRht back.
